Corporate News | New breakthrough in safety assessment of new energy vehicles! T-Breaker achieves minimum inductance 1.7uH testing capability
2024-04-09 08:10
Recently, Hangzhou T-Breaker Electric Co., Ltd. has made a major breakthrough in the field of new energy detection technology. It has carried out short-circuit breaking tests of 475V, 23kA for electric vehicle intelligent fuses in a low-inductance environment, and finally achieved a minimum inductance test capability of 1.7uH, breaking through the current domestic best level and leading the world. This progress has overcome the difficulty of testing new energy vehicles in low-inductance and low-time constant environments, and provided a more accurate evaluation method for the safety performance of new energy vehicles.
It is understood that one of the main challenges facing the testing link of the domestic new energy vehicle industry is how to accurately simulate and verify the performance of electric vehicles in real use environments. New energy vehicles are basically powered by batteries, with low inductance and low time constants in the circuit. However, most domestic testing institutions currently rely on direct power from the power grid. Traditional testing equipment has high inherent inductance in the circuit and is difficult to simulate a low time constant test environment. Therefore, many new energy vehicle companies have to conduct tests abroad, which is not only costly and time-consuming, but also difficult for R&D personnel to participate in on-site testing, which seriously restricts the pace of technology development and product updates.
According to the technical director of T-Breaker Electric, after six months of continuous technical research, the team successfully developed a high-voltage DC fuse test platform in March this year, and continuously broke through the minimum inductance value. The platform uses controllable ultra-large capacity pulse power technology, which can more accurately simulate the use environment of new energy vehicles in the test, meeting the testing needs of many new energy vehicle companies, helping them to speed up product development and reduce R&D costs.
It is reported that this system has broad application prospects in multiple DC testing fields such as new energy electric vehicles, energy storage, photovoltaics, rail transit, etc. Previously, the "high-voltage DC relay test platform" successfully developed by T-Breaker using similar technology has been selected as the first equipment in Zhejiang Province in 2023.
At present, the T-Breaker Hangzhou flagship testing center not only provides professional services for the domestic new energy industry chain, but also continues to receive demand orders from overseas new energy industry customers such as Japan, South Korea, Europe and the United States. T-Breaker (Shenzhen) Testing Center will be officially put into operation at the end of 2023, further enhancing its radiation capacity to the Greater Bay Area and surrounding areas.
"After achieving the lowest inductance of 1.7uH this time, we are already working on the next technical breakthrough." T-Breaker's technical director said that battery safety is the key to the development of new energy vehicles. Only by pursuing excellence in the pre-testing process can we be responsible for the industry and for consumer safety.
